SDG win an award for their active modes plan for Pikes Peak, Colorado

Steer Davies Gleave was delighted to receive an award for sustainability and environmental planning from APA Colorado for our recent work in developing an active modes plan for the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG). The Plan was also praised by APA Colorado for its quality and completeness.

The Plan will lead to a long-term improvement in cycling and walking infrastructure in the Pikes Peak region in an effort to increase the number of people using non-motorized modes of transportation.

The project contains a number of supporting documents to help provide a solid baseline for the region to build upon in the future, including:

  • an economic impact of cycling report;
  • a regional wayfinding paper;
  • a bicycle master plan for the City of Colorado Springs;
  • an active modes plan for the City of Woodland Park; and
  • an active modes plan for El Paso County.

More information on the Plan can be found at www.walkbikeconnect.org or you can read more about SDG’s approach to the project here.
