Phil has 18 years’ experience in transport operations and event planning for rail, light rail and bus networks across the UK, Australia and North America.
Phil is an expert in planning for the delivery of sports and major events from inception through to delivery with experience in pre-event demand modelling, development of specialised service plans for rail and bus, stakeholder management with local and national authorities, and experience working in transport control centres on event days.
His experience in rail and bus operations allows him to advise clients at all stages of the public transport planning cycle, ranging from strategic visioning and service specification to the preparation of detailed timetables and operating plans.
Phil is a senior member of both the Sports and Major Events and Rail teams, delivering technical advisor work for DfT and operators on rail franchises, strategic visions and business cases for bus networks, and mobility concepts for sports events, including the successful Euro 2028 bid and 2024 Champions League final.
